Soft Washing

Soft washing is the use of water-based, biodegradable chemicals to break down dirt and grime, remove bug nests and webs, kill mold, mildew, algae and bacteria – leaving the surface clean and sanitized.

Soft washing uses only one-third of the water that pressure or power washing does, lasts 4 - 6 times longer, and does not deteriorate or harm the surface like pressure washing often can. Soft washing also does far more than power washing because it does more than simply clean your roof. The products used in the SoftWash System do not just clean; they penetrate, sanitize, and eliminate the root of the problem.

Treating your roof with soft washing is more like insect control – the mix of safe, eco-friendly chemicals guarantee that the microorganisms that cause buildup are not just partly swept away, but removed completely.

Eco-Friendly, Biodegradable Chemicals in SoftWash

Oftentimes, individuals hesitate when they hear the word "chemicals," but it's truly not such a dirty word. In truth, everything is a chemical, even water (hydrogen dioxide).

The chemicals used in soft washing aid in the break-down of pollutants and infestations, so they can be quickly washed away. They do all the work without all the pressure. Our chemicals are water based, ship non-hazardous, and are biodegradable, meaning they break down into carbon and water within twenty (20) days of their introduction into the environment; leaving no contaminants behind.

4 Main Reasons to Soft Wash

There are a lot of reasons to select soft washing over pressure or power washing, however, here are our biggest reasons:

  1. Substitute for power washing
Power washing creates erosion and strips away materials that may have been loosened by decomposition or aging. It might be appropriate for some tasks and not others.

  2. It actually treats the infestation
Your home isn't only dirty – it's infected. Normal power washing merely removes the outer layer of this biomass and does not fix the root of the problem, leaving your surface susceptible again not long after pressure washing is completed.

  3. No damage from pressure
Poorly trained or unskilled pressure washers can cause serious damage to a roof or other surfaces, specifically if it's older to begin with.

  4. More eco-friendly cleaning option
Pressure washers use from 3 to 8 gallons of water per minute (gpm). In one hour of washing a power washer can utilize from 180 gallons upwards to 480 gallons of water. Alternatively, soft washing just uses approximately 60 gallons of cleaning solution, which is made up of about 40 gallons of water.

The cleaning solution is so effective that it lasts 4 – 6 times longer than power washing, making it more sustainable for the environment and your wallet.
